Coming soon to the District. Kel and her Re:Current consignment business (a place two) in the Gilbert Block Building.

Kel, the owner,  pictured in  Re:Current wearables, upcycled resale wardrobe finds from her first location in Tillamook. Kel signed on to become a new business in the Gilbert Block Building on Holladay Drive. She is hoping for a grand opening in May 2024 or early June.

Re:Current is more than just a boutique resale store. It’s where downtown Seaside will come to life with a carefully curated shopping experience that encourages everyone to choose secondhand first!

Re:Current has another location in Tillamook, Oregon, as well.

Corner of Broadway at Holladay.

Enjoy the historical meme on directions to RE:CURRENT.

  • Go down Broadway after turning west off Highway 101 in Seaside.
  • Highway 101 is fondly called the Pacific Coast Highway by locals.
  • At the first stop sign on Broadway, take a moment to enjoy the pocket gardens on the four corners of Broadway Street and Holladay Drive.
  • Turn north, or rather, turn right on Holladay Drive.
  • This is where Beach Books anchors the Gilbert Block Building in downtown Seaside.
  • This is where the former Pallapo Beach store, a Tommy Bahama boutique, was located for years.
  • Go past Seaside Coffee House, a local place to get your caffeine fix on the right or the north.
  • Go past The Cookie Jar Bakery, a yummy, sweet and terrific place on the left or the south.
  • Go past The Whet Spot, a happy local and visitor-gathering place.
  • This is where Mason, Holladay Drive’s most famous rescued street dog, resides.
  • Go just a little way to find the newest Gilbert Block business…
  • Ta-da, the place next to the Whet Spot is RE:CURRENT.

  • Fun fact: Li’l Bayou Cajun Restaurant was housed in this space for years.
  • In the past, way past, like fifteen years ago, the space was Two Guys Burger and Fries.
  • Most recently, the space was used for storage for Peddler’s Row, a favorite treasure trove full of high-end antiques and interior design goods on Broadway Street by Avery Loshcen and Will Perkins.
  • RE:CURRENT is directly across the street from the Natural Lather boutique, a place two location, as its owners have another thriving location in Spokane, WA.
  • Shamous’es Rocks, a top-rated tourist destination, is also across the street.
  • Next door to RE:CURRENT is Yellow Curry Thai Restaurant, a long-time neighborhood favorite.
  • On the corner of Holladay Drive and Ocean Way is a dedicated free parking lot set aside for the Historic Gilbert District.
  • Avery Loshcen and Will Perkins also operated Seaside Antique Mall.
  • The couple were delightful landlords for the Gilbert Block Building for decades.
  • And, too, they were involved with the 4-block renovation of the Historic Gilbert District in the 1980’s.
  • The Historic Gilbert District won a National Main Street award.

The restored commercial area in the heart of Seaside houses some of the city’s oldest buildings and is home to shopping, restaurants, and services. Two city blocks on Broadway, west of Highway 101. Dedicated parking is at Oceanway and Holladay.
