Artist Paul Brent will be showing new watercolors completed on a recent trip to France.  The new works feature scenes of Paris, the Normandy Coast and the villages and châteaux of the Loire Valley.

 

Limestone cliffs of Normandy reflect the towering parapets of castles and cathedrals in watercolors that reflect the national romance of the Impressionists.  Come visit with Paul Brent about this experience in his second year in a Pop-Up Studio on Broadway is co-sponsored by the Gilbert Block Building and Fairweather Gallery.

IMPRESSIONS OF FRANCE exhibition by Paul Brent.

The Gilbert Block Building, located on the corner of Broadway and Holladay, announces the opening of a new exhibit of watercolors by Paul Brent titled “Impressions of France” for the Seaside First Saturday Art Walk September 1, 5 :pm to 7 :pm.

Avery Loschen and Will Perkins, owners of the Gilbert Block Building will open Brent’s exhibit at its Pop-Up location at 604 Broadway, two doors west of the Fairweather Gallery permanent location.

Paul Brent will be showing new watercolors completed on a recent trip to France.

The new works were painted in the month of April and feature scenes of Paris, the Normandy Coast and the villages and châteaux of the Loire Valley.

 

Architecture, landscape, market scenes and spring flowers are all included in the works in the exhibition.

 

 

While many American are enthralled by a trip to France, artist Paul Brent turned his infatuation into art when he took his watercolors paints and paper with him and painted on site and at the inns where he and his wife stayed on their trip.

 

 

The subtle colors of the building materials and the natural features of the landscapes contrast to the vivid fields of flowering crops featuring vivid yellows and skies of ultramarine blue.

Paul Brent, sponsored by the Gilbert Block Building, offered a Seaside Painting LIVE ™ episode, starting with a blank canvas at the beginning of the September 2nd Seaside First Saturday Art Walk evening and completing a quick finish at the end, offering patrons marvelous opportunities to watch a master artist create.

Fun fact: Paul Brent especially enjoys painting beachscapes that he views near his two home studios in Panama City, Florida and Seaside, Oregon.
